Pickups of the Week
Justin Forsett & Lorenzo Taliaferro – The Ravens will need some backs to tote the rock, being sans Ray Rice for good these days.
Terrance West & Isaiah Crowell – Two rookie backs in Cleveland. Crowell was the 5 star coming out of high school that did not live up to the hype in college (also he got in trouble). West is the #2 back and did have over 100 yards rushing last week. Take West if possible, Crowell if it’s a deep league. Pay attention to Ben Tate’s injury report.
Mark Ingram – There were rumbles out of training camp that he was feeling great this year, his contract year. He showed off an impressive start to garner a flex play with upside going forward.
Chris Ivory – Ivory had a solid start, but is behind in the RBBC to Chris Johnson. Ivory will remain a decent Flex play, just remember he took the reigns when they were handed to him last season. Maybe the change of pace role will keep him fantasy relevant.
Devonta Freeman – Stash him on the bench somewhere. An injury will fall in this 4 RBBC backfield. Freeman has a chance to move up the pecking order later in the season.
Kelvin Benjamin – 8 targets 6 receptions for 92 yards and 1 TD. Cam Newton will feed him the rock all season. He may have not been the first rookie WR taken in the draft, but he will likely give Brandin Cooks a run for the money.
Brandin Cooks – We doubt he is available, but there is always a chance. 8 Targets 7 Receptions 1 TD.
Markus Wheaton – Second year WR who had 6 receptions for 97 yards, but no score.
Allen Hurns – 4 receptions on 9 targets with his first 2 NFL catches for TDs. Not bad reaching 110 yards on your first day at work. He will not be available by Thursday.
DeAndre Hopkins – Another 2nd year WR that delivered big with 89 yard and a TD.
Jake Locker – Keep an eye on the Titan QB in 2 QB leagues, he has not been sent out to the pasture yet and looked great in week one.
Austin Davis – If you really need to reach, once he gets his feet wet he could blossom. Stash him if you can in deep 2 QB leagues.
