FirstAndMonday’s Overton’s 301 Preview
By Holden Asworth
We’re back in New England for round one of two at The Magic Mile this season with plenty of headlines filling the garage. Somehow, Kyle Larson and his team forgot how to pass inspection and how to cheat without getting caught. Filed under “Thank you Captain Obvious”, Joe Gibbs Racing announced Erik Jones as their replacement for Matt Kenseth. Rumors also swarmed around about possible replacements for Dale Jr, one of which involves Brad Keselowski coming back for a reunion. NASCAR decided to add a grip compound to the track this week, so we’ll see how that plays into things Sunday afternoon.
Truex – can’t rule him out of any race at this point. Starts on the pole.
Busch (Kyle, crybaby) – won this race twice, starts 7th.
Busch (Kurt, violent) – also won twice, starts 9th.
Johnson – another two time winner, starts 2nd.
Larson – starts dead last, but was top 5 in all practice sessions.
