1. Malik Hooker, Ohio State
Hooker is a fantastic athlete that can tackle and has great range and ball skills. He’s also a fantastic playmaker with the ball in his hands as he returned 3 interceptions for touchdowns.
2. Jamal Adams, LSU
Adams is a big hitter and really dominant in the run game. He also has great athleticism and coverage skills.
3. Budda Baker, Washington
Baker is a tremendous athlete with great speed. He plays the game technically sounds and has a knack for creating turnovers and making big hits, despite lacking ideal size.
4. Jabrill Peppers, Michigan
Peppers is a fantastic athelte and there is no doubt he has potential to be a big time player in the NFL, but he has a lot to prove. He’s a safety, yet Michigan played him all over and mostly at linebacker last year and has seriously slowed his development at safety. Harbaugh seemed too concerned with making him a circus act instead of developing him at safety. It will take some time, but he can be a fantastic in the box safety. His lack of big plays at the collegiate level is concerning.
5. Obi Melifonwu, UCONN
Melifonwu has fantastic size at 6’4 219. Despite being built almost like a linebacker he has fantastic size and athleticism. He was a tackling machine and also has a knack for creating turnovers. He’ll take some development, but look out when he does.
