Central Michigan Chippewas (6-4, 4-2 MAC) @ Kent State Golden Flashes (2-8, 1-5 MAC) — CMU -17.5 — 5 PM EST
A red-hot Chips squad takes on a flailing Kent State team in a game that screams rout. The Chips Jonathan Ward is rolling the last three games (all CMU wins), averaging 7.72 yards per carry, with at least one score in each game. He’s amassed 497 yards from scrimmage in the span. The Golden Flashes meanwhile are horrific versus the run, allowing 228.5 yards on the ground, and thus the prep product of Kankakee, Illinois runs like a river to a career best.
The Fightin’ Bonamegos dominate again with the impetus being Ward, and the defense playing tough versus the woeful Kent State offense (second worst total offense and scoring offense nationally,). 50-6 Chips, yikes.

Ohio Bobcats (8-2, 5-1 MAC) @ Akron Zips (5-5, 4-2 MAC) — Ohio -11, O/U — 5 PM EST
Another reality check awaits for an Akron squad that had yet to play the East’s heavyweights, and after falling to Miami of Ohio awaits the team that thumped the RedHawks two weeks ago and dominated West favorite Toledo last week.
The Frank Solich led Bobcats are crushing teams, and doing so with a pummeling ground game. AJ Ouellette (897 rushing yards, 7 TD, 5.7 per carry) and Dorian Brown (600 yards, 6 TD, 6.2 per carry) are the lead backs, both proving to have toughness and burst to pound away and break plays. Yet sophomore quarterback Nathan Rourke is leading the offense, rushing for 17 touchdowns while throwing for 14 to just four picks. He’s played lights out, and we see no reason for pause against a Akron defense shown to be porous.
The Zips struggle against a motivated pass defense, and the Bobcats roar to a 47-18 win.
